At certain points of the menu system enter will default to a certain option.  Usually it's back to the previous menu, but some times it's to acknowledge a yes/no question.  This is preference for me, but when you use a ration and it asks you if you're sure, can that default to yes instead of no?

I had to actually die [of starvation] and become resurrected again before I figured out that I wasn't actually eating a ration...even now I still hit enter thinking I've eaten a ration... Sad

The only other instance I've find where the default <enter> could be changed is when you're going up/down holes (it defaults to No).  If you go to use the rope while you're on top of a hole there's a pretty good chance you meant to.  In anycase it's primarily the ration one that gets me.

The defaults are there to keep you from making bad decisions.  They almost never speed up gameplay.  Just like in the complex hitting enter backs you out of what you just did.  If we change that behavior then the defaults will always be random.

Well I see where you're coming from, and I'll admit that your probably right.  However, having it be a default "No" kept me from making a good decision (well, considering the fact that I died of starvation).   :x

I'll survive with this not changing though...now all I need is a super ration so I don't get hungry so often Cheesy

Now there's an idea!

Also, if it makes you feel any better I've caught myself doing the same thing ...  That is pressing enter and realizing that I didn't eat the ration.

It always helps to check out that big red HUNGRY! status indicator every once and a while. Smiley
