The one thing that bugs me about picking up items, is that you can't drop items at the same time.  You have to exit the pickup, go to the main screen and go into drop (and vice versa).  The problem is that if you're picking up a better weapon you could be attacked in the process & may have just dropped your weapon & won't be able to fight back.  (Which means you have to run and causes all sorts of problems!)

I definitely agree, but I'm not sure how this would change the gameplay.  I've always thought that when you pick up a weapon or armor you should be able to swap it for something else.  Or maybe, in the case of suits and armor, it would automatically swap it.

I wouldn't mind adding this, but I would want to get Dustin's opinion first.  Also, if players are opposed to this, let me know. Smiley

I like the idea of being able to "swap" items. It would speed things up. Items "swapped out" would be automatically dropped.

This removes the possibility of attack while you are doing the swap.  I know this was an intentional part of the gameplay as it was discussed back in OOII Beta.

As long as you could still get attacked between the swapping it would be a worthwhile feature.

Just add in an attack check every time an item is dropped/picked up.

I agree, if an attack check is added every time an item is dropped/picked up, doing both at the same time would be better, and the attack check would keep it true to the game's intentions.
