Since OOII was originally designed with one player online at a time we are going to run into lots and lots of these issues.  Might as well get this first one out of the way ...

Suprax and I were playing around a bit today and she suddenly informed me:

"I just stole 100 crystals from you!"

Suddenly I wanted to imlement the lice player's throat command. Wink  But it brought up a good question:

Should players be allowed to steal from other players who are currently online?  And if the answer is yes, what kind of special rules should be imposed?

Any activities that (negatively) modify another online player without first consent (or timely notification for a response) should probably be cut.  Activities that involve a bestowment, be it crystals or weapons or equipment, should remain.

Just so everyone knows ...  These kinds of decisions are based on a lot more than just being fair.  One of the complications right now is how to deal with the results.

The biggest problem right now is that we don't have a way for the victim to get retribution if he catches the thief.

Once the game is more complete we'll revisit this. Smiley

Hello,

For my two cents I would say that based on a failed stealing, a option to fight the thief should be made available to the victim if both are logged in.  Similair to looting a campsite, if you fail at least give the victim a long-range weapon shot or a whap on the head to the thief.

I can't imagine how difficult it is to implement anything in the new OOII build but I would think you can look back to the original 1.12 bbs days for inspiration on "new" issues that come up.

Either way I am remain very excited that OOII lives on and would love to help out -- you guys still need icons for the map?  I said I would help but never got going with that and I think the bbs sites have changed since...
