Replacing the gate guard

OK, I logged into the journeyman game.  As I was logging in, I got updatess that "chico gave me a hemp rope" or some such, "chico gave me a silencer", "chico gave me a silecer" etc to include all occurances of you giving me items.  However, when I checked my inventory, I had nothing of the sort.  So - basically, the sentry guard clone of me and me are completely independent of each other except it gives me the sentry guards offline updates.
