Overkill BBS Downtime

Overkill World HQ was down for a while, but it's now back up.

The network cable accidentally got pulled apart!

Overkill Update

The Overkill BBS is still running and with the auto-reset feature in place the games are being cycled somewhat regularly.  Still plenty of Overkill to be had when you get the urge!

The 32-bit version of Overkill still has some major bugs in it, thus there hasn't been a release yet.  This summer I will make a new Windows alpha build with these bugs fixed.  I will also start testing the Linux version and put a game up that runs on the DOS version.  You guys can pound away on those for a while and we'll shoot for a Christmas 2007 release of the first 32-bit version of Overkill.

After that will probably be another break and I'll try to get an idea of what the current players want out of the game.  It sounds like there's a lot of interest in reviving OOIS which in theory would allow the game to move forward at some point.

The forums have been pretty active recently, so if you have any opinions on the future of the game be sure and voice them.  The players is the only thing that keeps this game alive!

New Alpha Build of Operation Overkill!

There's a brand new alpha build of the Win32 version of Overkill running on the BBS now. This corrects the saving issues and item pickup issues that have been seen for the past few months.

The Windows version and Linux version are now using the same compiler, so hopefully that will speed the Linux port along.

Check it out and be sure and report any problems!

Overkill Problems

I apologize that its taken this long to get the problems with the Overkill game solved.  I've been a bit busy these past three months and did not realize the problems were so bad until recently.

I am currently preparing a new build for testing that should be done soon!

Overkill World HQ BBS Moving

Overkill WHQ BBS is moving back to Texas.  It will be down for a few days while the transition happens.  We should be back up and running by this weekend though!

Also, the time will be changing to Central Standard Time.  So it'll be two hours later than it normally would be.

See y'all soon!

Overkill v1.21 Beta!

It's been years since we've had a major release and even longer since we've added a new feature.

The new version of Operation: Overkill is now being tested on Overkill World HQ. This version has a brand new feature: Auto Reset.

Three days after Overkill is defeated the game will reset automatically. No sysop intervention needed. During these three days the users vote on the map for the next game! Overkill will finally be maintenance free!

So drop on by and help us test!

Complications!

I apologize for the downtime. There was a bit of confusion between the phone company, the ISP, and me. We're all on the same page now!

Welcome back!
